Let me tell you a little about myself. I am a product of Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and a proud graduate of Independence High School. I received a bachelor's degree in health/physical education from Appalachian State University, a master's degree in physical education from Winthrop University and principal certification through the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. I have been in education for 39 years, 23 of those as a principal. I served as a teacher, coach and athletic director for 12 years at Carmel Junior High School. I served as an assistant principal for four years at South Charlotte and Carmel middle schools. I served as principal at Smith Academy of International Languages, J. M. Alexander Middle School, North Mecklenburg High School and Cato Middle College High School before becoming principal of Levine Middle College High School where I have served for five years. My wife (also a proud graduate of Independence High School) and I have been married for almost 38 years and we have three children.
As a principal, I believe that all students can succeed. I am committed to ensuring that all of the students who choose Levine graduate ready to take the next step because they’ve already chosen a path. I look forward to working with you and your student. Thank you for choosing Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools and Levine Middle College High School.
